An Interview with our Nail and Eyelash Technician Trainees

A couple of weeks ago, we just started the third batch of our trainees for both nail and eyelash technicians. You may be thinking what kind of training are they having, or why do they even have to do an intensive training for these services, but let us tell you why – 1) Because Japanese technique is so much different than Filipino technique, 2) Japanese technique requires not just talent, but also focus-to-detail, dedication, and patience and we are training our technicians with the same manner, and 3) We want to provide top quality services to our customers that is worth of what they are paying for.

As of today, we have seven (7) nail technician trainees and five (5) eyelash technician trainees. To know more about them, we decided to randomly have a short and quick interview with them.

Jennily Villapando (eyelash)

What are your expectations from this training?

(Our training itself is already a big opportunity for us. Kiyosa has given us skills that no one can take away from us.)

(Because Japanese technique is different from local technique. The training that is given to us is very detailed.)

What is your goal should you pass the training and become an official Eyelash designer of Kiyosa JTB?

(First of all, I am thankful because I was able to experience this training as if you are passing through the eye of a needle. Whatever I learn here, I will study more closely so I am able to share it with the customers and be the reason of their return.)

Ma. Salome Tesado (eyelash)

What did you feel when you were accepted here at Kiyosa?

Masaya and nervous at the same time kasi first job ko ‘to. Fresh graduate kasi ako ng HRM course.

(I was happy and nervous at the same time because this is my first job. I am also a fresh graduate of HRM course.)

Why did you choose Kiyosa Japanese Total Beauty?

Ni-refer po ako ni ate rosa, and according to her ok naman daw po dito

(I was referred by Ate Rosa, and according to her, this company is alright.)

What are your expectations from this training?

(If ever I get to pass the training, I want to learn more, improve my skills and also to get better at it)

What is your goal should you pass the training and become an official Eyelash designer of Kiyosa JTB?

(My goal is simple, to be a good employee here at Kiyosa and to be a level 1 eyelash designer.)

Glaiza Cabanela (eyelash)

What did you feel when you were accepted here at Kiyosa?

Mixed emotions eh, masaya na kinakabahan. Eto kasi ang first time ko na mag handle ng eyelash ng ibang tao.

(I had mixed emotions – happy and nervous. Because this is my first time handling the eyelash of people other than me.)

(I was referred by Ate Mish. I admire her skills and experience as eyelash designer at Kiyosa. I am also curious about the Japanese technique that’s why I decided to apply here.)

What are your expectations from this training?

(Our training is difficult, but I still find myself enjoying it because it is new to me. And because our trainer, Ms. Minako, is very focused on us, I really learn a lot.)

What is your goal should you pass the training and become an official Eyelash designer of Kiyosa JTB?

Yung magkaroon ako ng maraming client para maishare ko rin yung knowledge and hardship na natutunan ko from my training.

(I want to have a lot of clients, so I can share with them the knowledge and hardship that I got from my training.)

Virginia Bellicario (nail)

What did you feel when you were accepted here at Kiyosa?

Masaya at thankful po kahit wala po akong experience

(I am happy and thankful [to be hired] even if I don’t have an experience.)

(I was curious about the new skills I’ll get to learn here, because I was a welder before. Right now, I want [to work] something lighter.)

What are your expectations from this training?

(Of course, to have more knowledge and skills. I am expecting that although I am not that good, I can still pass the training.)

What is your goal should you pass the training and become an official Eyelash designer of Kiyosa JTB?

(Of course, to work hard and to be able to help my family.)

Rosalia Austin (nail)

What did you feel when you were accepted here at Kiyosa?

Masaya po ako, syempre kasi that time nung nainterview ako, tinanggap nila ako.

(I was happy, of course, because they accepted me after my interview. I am also thankful to Ma’am Cel when she interviewed me. When I was accepted, it was my birthday and I’d like to think that it is a gift from God.)

(I applied here in Kiyosa so that I have something to do with my life and not just to stand around doing nothing. It is better to have your own income to help your husband. It is good for a married couple to help each other. Also, I really want to experience the Japanese technique [of Kiyosa JTB], that’s why I decided to apply here.)

What are your expectations from this training?

(I was not expecting to be accepted here. For now, I am thinking ahead of time, I am still probing my training before I say anything.)

What is your goal should you pass the training and become an official Eyelash designer of Kiyosa JTB?

To continue my learning hanggang sa maging successful ako.

(To continue my learning until I become a successful person.)

Jennifer C. Bello

What are your expectations from this training?

Gusto ko pa magkaroon ng knowledge about sa paggawa ng kuko, at ma-enhance ang aking skills sa pag nail-art and acrylic

(I want to have a knowledge about doing nails, and also to enhance my skills ding nail art and acrylic [extensions].)

Why did you choose Kiyosa Japanese Total Beauty?

Kasi gusto kong mag level up.

(I want to level up. I want to have an experience in a high-end place, so I picked Kiyosa.)

What is your goal should you pass the training and become an official Eyelash designer of Kiyosa JTB?

Tumagal syempre.

(To last [in working here], of course. I want to become a level 1 nail technician, because I feel like my passion is here doing nails. I really want to stay here and become a professional just like the nail technicians of Kiyosa.)

Their training will last until the second week of May. And apart from the actual training, they also have a written exam to further test their skills and knowledge about being a nail and eyelash designer. And when everything is over and they get to debut in our salons, it just means that we can accommodate more customers! Isn’t that fun?
